# Plot Contols

Each viewport has a control panel, which can be accessed from teh controls icon seen in top right of the viewport's toolbar.

## Channel controls

Channel controls allow you to play with the visualization by altering visibility or scale of data from channels

#### Channel Selection

You can select which channels you want to visualize. Note that the data, when recorded, records information of all channels. Channel selection is simply for visualization and does not have an effect on your recorded dataset

#### Channel Zoom

Channel zoom helps you adjust the scale of each channel. You can zoom in globally for all channels or scale desired channels up or down individually

* Global zoom is seen on the toolbar of each viewport (only for Real Time Series Plot)
* Individual channel scales can be adjusted using the '+' and '-' icons seen next to each channel

## Plot Filters

<figure><img src="https://2761951758-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FhtBZnSGOC4EMhU3nc5oM%2Fuploads%2FlyVDOJXrWvd1qoJ5y1JJ%2Fplot-filters.png?alt=media&amp;token=c91db164-901a-444a-afc8-c21a8e784a81" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can apply any number of filters to any of the viewports. BXI Studio currently supports Bandpass (Lowpass and Highpass) and Bandstop filters.

1. Switch to the 'Filters' tab in the plot controls menu
2. Click on 'Add New Filter'.
3. Edit name and values of the filter and hit 'Apply'. You can apply changes to a selected plot or to all plots from the source
4. You can drag to rearrange filters.
5. Unchecking a filter removes the filter from the plot but the filter configuration is saved for easier reapplication.

## Gain Configurations

<figure><img src="https://2761951758-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FhtBZnSGOC4EMhU3nc5oM%2Fuploads%2FPvIVjkwfhgAyJN93FxwQ%2Fgains-and-lpf.png?alt=media&amp;token=31e8357a-b21d-4c8f-9e97-fafc3ca9c1c7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For specific devices, Gains can be configured for channels along with parameters like Low pass frequency, Sampling Rate, etc. You can change gain configurations even when you are visualizing the data. Once you apply, the plot re-renders to accomodate the applied configurations.

> **Note:** Filters and gain configurations can only be altered until a recording is started. When data is being recorded, you will not be able to change these configurations.
