# Open a recording

Playback lets you review recorded biosignal sessions after they have been captured. It provides the same chart visualization as live streaming, plus timeline controls, seek functionality, and marker navigation.

## Open a recording

1. Go to **Dashboard, Streams**.
2. The recordings table shows all saved sessions with:
   * Recording name / timestamp
   * Duration
   * Device used
   * Number of markers placed
3. Click a recording row to select it.
4. Click **Open Playback** to load it.

## Playback controls

| Control        | Action                                 |
| -------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| Play           | Start playback from current position   |
| Pause          | Freeze at current position             |
| Timeline scrub | Click anywhere on the timeline to jump |
| Marker arrows  | Skip forward/backward between markers  |

## Markers in playback

Event markers placed during recording appear as labeled points on the timeline. You can:

* See marker labels and timestamps.
* Click a marker to jump to that exact point.
* Use the forward/backward arrow buttons to navigate between markers sequentially.
* Expand the marker panel to see all markers in a list.

## Layout

Playback uses the same viewport layout system as live streaming. The chart types and channel selections from the recording session are preserved.

## Exit playback

Click the **back arrow** or navigate to any sidebar section to leave playback and return to the dashboard.
