# Wear the headset (Instinct)

This screen guides physical placement of the headset on the subject's head.

## Position the headset

1. Hold the headset with the front electrodes (FP1, FP2) facing forward.
2. Place the front edge approximately 1 cm above the eyebrows.
3. Pull the headset down evenly on both sides.
4. The back should sit just above the occipital bone: the bump at the back of the skull.
5. The headset should feel snug but not tight.

## Key positioning reference

* **Front (FP1, FP2)**: above the eyebrows, on the forehead.
* **Sides (T3, T4, F7, F8)**: above the ears.
* **Back (O1, O2)**: above the occipital bone.
* **Top (CZ)**: at the vertex of the skull.

> **Note:** Part or move hair aside under each electrode position. Hair between the electrode and scalp is the most common cause of poor impedance readings.
