# Analog input configurations (xBud)

After connecting an xBud, and assigning a subject to it, BXI Studio walks you through a short 3-step setup to configure how it reads and labels incoming signals. Before you begin, make sure the device is on a flat surface and its connections are made to the correct analog pins — a reminder for this stays visible throughout setup.

### Step 1: Rename Channels

1. Rename any number of desired channels
2. For each channel, select a Pin to map it to on the device, and optionally add a Description

### Step 2: Configure Signal Settings <a href="#anolog-input-configurations" id="anolog-input-configurations"></a>

This defines how the device reads incoming signals — voltage range, grounding, and sampling rate.

* Analog Input — set the Voltage Range (Min: -10 to 0V, Max: 0 to 10V) and Termination Config (e.g. RSE; note that USB 6000 only supports RSE and Differential)
* Timing — set the Sampling Rate in Hz, from 10 to 10,000 Hz per channel

### Step 3: Review Device Specs

This step is informational rather than editable — it confirms the device is running on xBuds's standard Gain, Low Pass Frequency (LPF), and Over Sampling Ratio (OSR), broken down per component: Synap, REF, CMS, DRL, and Nerv.

### Finishing up

Selecting Continue from the last step opens a Configuration Complete dialog:

1. Confirm the Name of the Subject
2. Optionally check Save subject and configurations to reuse this setup for future sessions
3. Select Finish

At any step, Skip This Step moves on without changing that step's settings, and Back returns to the previous one.
